This is my 72 350 GS Race Car. It currently has a low compression stock 455 with headers and a small cam. I know some of you don't like spongebob but my 12 year old son and I have been watching Spongebob since he was 3. When he was 5 or 6 he got me a 3' tall Spongebob Doll that rides shotgun when I race for good luck. So that is why this is called project Gangster Bob. This is what I started with. This is close to what I hope to finish with. This is the custom plates I had Made I have some progress pix that I will post latter.
Any updates? New pics? I hope you know the rear wheels in the first pics need to go now. You won't be able to pull off the cobbled together ugly look anymore, so it might as well look right!
No progress yet. I had to take a break on the 70' and did a rustolium Gloss black paint job on my 67 lark. I should be back on top the 70' this week.
Here is the reason I have not got much done on the 70. I needed a car to race while I got the 70 ready. So I decided to buy a $28 can of rustolium Gloss black and paint the 67 and race it. I was very pleased with the way this paint worked out. I fixed 3 dents and scuffed the old paint. 1 hr tops of prep. The 7.5:1 455 performed very well for a low compression stock engine. It ran 8.93 @ 76mph. Now it's time to get back to the 70 This is the before And after
You have some pretty uniquely designed/paint schemed cars and I think thats really cool. Youll have fun with this one. I did a black rustoleum job on a car too, if you run a buffer over it it will super super suprise you how glossy it will come out.
Yep, and it says to use acetone but we didn't like how it was laying down so we used paint thiner instead.
I was afraid to run a buffer over it because it doesn't have hardener in it. How long did you wait until you buffed it out? What compound did you use?
who knew that rustoleum could look so good! great job on the 67. what did you use to spray it? keep up the good work.:TU:
I just thinned mine out with some mineral spirits, no hardener. Waited a week, buffed it with the lightest grade cheapo turtle wax stuff on there and it worked wonders, honestly I could see my reflection in it, and I probably could have used a compound one step harsher and saved some time.

I was wondering if you would ever notice. I hope it is ok? Yours is the only one I could find with Yellow on Black with any kind of resolution at a good anle. I originally was going to do Green on black, but after seeing yours I almost went Yellow on black like yours. My wife poo pooed it though. I will take it down if it bothers you.
