I have a 1971 skylark & I would like to install a GS cold air hood. I am wondering if a 1970 or 1972 would fit the 71. Also will these hoods work with my upper grill trim?

The 1971 hood vents are hard to come by & I,m not building a clone ,just like the looks of that hood !

    thanks folks.

the 70-72 hoods are all the same except the '70 does not have the "pop- up spring" ('70 is usually a bit more spendy)

Good luck getting your GS hood - they are not easy to find but they are out there. I did the same swap with my '71 Skylark and found my hood locally so picked it up and didn't have to pay for shipping. There is another GS hood for sale here locally and it is on ebay as well but no shipping (seems to want a lot but is open to offers) - unless you know someone who could pick it up for you:

I have a 71 GS hood that needs some work - has a few bends here and there for $150. The scoop area is in good shape and just that area could be cut off in the braced area underneath and grafted onto a Skylark hood so it would not show. I am in Michigan and would rather not ship this heavy item. I would ship the scoop area if cut out. Let me know if you are interested!

I also have a 71-72 hood (no inserts or grills) that I'd part with. It's in primer, looks to be nice, signs of slight body work done visible only when front trim is removed. I'v never had it down to bare metal but looks very nice. I'm in Bismarck, ND not overly excited to ship.
