    Hi all,

    I'm looking at a 70 4V, 71 4V and a 72 2V this weekend for my 84 Regal.

Assuming they all run well, is this a slam dunk "get the 70" or is there something else I should consider? The 72 2V is freshly painted and ready to install, the 71 and 70 need to be pulled and cleaned up. I don't intend on rebuilding any of them before transplant.

This is going to be a daily driver first car for a 16 y.o.

    Thanks,
    Dan

Daily driver for a 16yo, hurm 5 years ago thats where I was. Guess I had a cool dad as well. My only choice was a 72, which went in my Regal. The 70 would be best as far as heads, the rest is all pretty much the same. Just use your own judgement on the motors as far as how good of shape they are in. I just reringed and put fresh bearings in mine when I started driving it. Lasted the rest of high school and prolly would have gone longer till I got the itch to go faster. Gas wont be cheap, I started driving mine when gas was just over a buck. Made about 75 bucks a week bagging groceries, im pretty sure half of that went in the tank. Good luck with the project.

This motor will be happier on regular unleaded. Car would be plenty fast for a 16 year old. It can always be rodded later when the driver is a little more experienced.

    Well the 70 it is...
It is ready to drop in, pretty and the price was right (IMO)
not to mention I drove it home in the doner car.

    Wish me luck,
    Dan
