Anyone got a matched set of each? I'm tired of trying to mix and match to no avail.

There is a good possibility I would have some, but will have to look through the stuff when I get a chance.

    70 - 72 455 brackets wanted

Oklahoma, You best be a little more specific or you still may end up with a mismatched mess. The 70 455 came with a short water pump. 71 and up a long. You may just have the wrong pulleys, or something as simple as a short pump pulley on a long pump. Some one posted a list of the correct pulley #s for both sets in the wanted thread a while back. You should be able to find it using a search. Bill V.

That looks like the right P/S bracket to me.How much, delivered to 73045, OKC area?

Those A/C brackets look very similar to what I have, but maybe there is a subtle difference? How much, delivered to 73045, OKC area?

Bill V. (My brother's name as well),
At this point, the parts won't even bolt to the motor. His P/S bracket looks like it will work with the one bracket I have that is bolted to the motor. The problem I am having with the A/C is that that top bracket will not clear the valve covers when installed. Maybe I'm doing someting wrong and it should clear, but I'll have to look again. Thanks for your input.

FYI, the PS brackets pictured bolt directly to the block, no other brackets needed. I have 2 engines here with this set up if you'd like pics. Just trying help! :TU:

I think if there is a problem it is that I have a '70 intake manifold and heads on a 76 block and crank pulley. Or are all the crank pulleys the same? Can I make the 71 and up A/C brackets work on my 70 intake manifold? At this point it does not look like it. I know there is a difference in the mounting boss on the 76 intake manifold. I think I can make the P/S brackets work with what I have. But what about the A/C? Perhaps I need a 1970 455 set up for both.

    brackets

You better make sure before you buy anymore parts, I thought the 350 AC top bracket was diff. than 455 all the parts I show are from a Early 71 455 the 1970 motors had Aluminum lower AC bracket and alum. power str. bracket with two metal plates so the power str. is 3 peices, kinda confused well so are alot of other people thanks Dan.

Jim Weise told me that the Parts Place is making a P/S bracket that is used in conjunction with the triangular aluminum bracket from the 350. I wonder how this can work when the triangle 350 bracket sets the pump up too high to clear the water pump. Maybe I'll call them.

Anyway, a sure fire solution would be a set of matched 1970 brackets for A/C and P/S.

Not sure if you have read this article on the PS brackets. It shows the correct set-up for a 70 BB. These are the brackets(on the pump) that the parts place is repro'ing. Article.
