Guys, There seems to be some confusion regarding cowl screens so here is how they go, All 70 and 71's had them, including early 72 cars. Then sometime during the production year the 72's switched over to the 3-piece plastic screens. My 72 assembly manual lists the change over date as 11/26/71. This was also not a plant thing, but was across the board. Duane
My car is also 2/72, and it has the screen. I guess it's just a coincidence, but I've never seen a 72 Flint car with the screen. Interesting!
John I checked my plate and it's a 43437FL1 and date code 02B. Isn't that a Flynt # and second week of Feb?
John, I have (2) 72 assembly manuals, the early one lists the screens only. The late assembly manual (that you sent me) shows the change from the screen to the plastic pieces and it does not list anything regarding production plants. The date on the drawing would be the date it was included in the drawing set. This is not necessarily the date the change was enforced. I have no info other then this. Duane
