Guys, I am re-posting this info, as the earlier post apparently got nuked. Passenger Front Inner Fender Repair (70-72 Skylark/GS) Pricing Parts with all the welding and the majority of grinding done, but needing blasted, primered, having the seams filled, painted, etc. Core charge $40.00 Repair kit $75.00 Time/materials $110.00 Total (each) $225.00 If you send a usable core, or return one to me later I will reimburse you the $40.00 This brings the part down to $185.00. If you have already purchased the repair kit, you can knock that off the price, which would bring it down to $110.00. Shipping for these boxes is Oversize 2, so you can figure 25-40 dollars including the box, depending on where you live. If it's less then that, you will pay less. Duane
Duane, There's NOTHING like recycled parts, is there!? What a great idea... Did that stuff show up in the mail this week?
Brett, Yes it did, and your info is going out today. Thanks. Duane PS. I have 2 of these repaired pieces in stock now, both are for cars with AC. Here is the repair-jig I made to make sure everything lines up. I used the NOS inner fender to set it up.
Duane Is it possible to make a pick up at your place. I am located in the Willow Grove, PA area and I do believe your not to far away. I did purchase a repair panel and also I am keeping my original inner fender from my GS, which is in good condition but not perfect. The only question I do have is will the fender be ready for paint or will it require additional work to make it perfect to paint. Let me know! George
Duane: Do you patch the bad portion unique to a specific piece or the same size patch regardless of the damaged area? Nice job!
George, Yes you can make a pick up at my place, I only live 8 miles from the Phila Airport, but I have the parts in storage, so I will need advance warning, to bring them back home. As far as "The only question I do have is will the fender be ready for paint or will it require additional work to make it perfect to paint." The parts are exactly as pictured, so you would need to blast, primer, and have the seams filled before painting. David, The trick to using these repair panels, is to only use what you need to fix the panel, I trim off the un-needed piece. On the one pictured I had to go all the way to the engine side of the panel. I try to leave the original edge on whenever possible, but could not save it on this one. (That's the only part that shows.) What's nice is that the repair jig keeps everything lined up. Duane
Harvey, You can get the repair panels from several venders. I bought mine from Cars in New Jersey. Duane
Nice work. I've seen the patch kit for the passenger side...but haven't seen one anywhere for the driver's side. Anybody know of a supplier? Thanks! Jay
