Quick question, on the firewall (engine side), passenger side, lower, there is a small indention...sorry I don't have a photo, but it's about an inch or so in size. I've had my motor out for a year and welded up where the heater box was... what is that dimple for? Trying to figure out if I can hammer it out and smooth it out.
If its OEM, it was probably done from a template before heading to the hole stamping plant. Probably wouldve been a hole location for an AC hose clamp mount or such. Look at a freshly blasted firewall and theres always a bunch of marks that were never used... ws
Was that an AC car? The AC/non AC walls are different. "Usually" the condensate drain is a "duck bill" valve on the fiberglass plenum. They like to get plugged up with mouse and spider turds LOL... was that dimple from the factory or maybe "fitting" 1000lbs of motor on a hoist? If youre going for custom or for fast, if the wall's all flat, nows the time to fit a piece of 1/8 aluminum diamond plate against it and screw it down and have a total cover. "Engine turning" is cool too! Also easy to insulate from heat and soundproof. ws
It is OEM, just gonna hammer it out and smooth it out. I went vintage air and welded up the old heater/ac openings. Love the diamond plate look. That's nice. That's everyone for the input. You guys are awesome!
It does not matter if it shows, he knows it is there. How can a man sleep at night with such a silent thing lurking under the hood in the garage? "Did you year that? " "That dent is likely up to no good." "Where's my hammer..."
