Could someone with a vinyl top project car possibly post a couple pictures with some measurements of where the bolt holes and peg locations are on a vinyl top car?

My 70 is solid Burgundy, and I would like to add a white painted top. I have all the trim for a vinyl top car, but I need to see where to drill, etc.

    Thanks,
    Tom

Pretty sure the fasteners/clips all secure to "T" studs welded onto the car during production. An exception may be the corner pieces.
I looked at adding the upper peak mouldings to my car using fasteners in a newly drilled hole. Changed my mind once I figured on drilling over 20 holes in an otherwise pristine clooection of sheetmetal.

    Hi Steve,
Yes, I know the clips slide onto "T" studs, I have one style aftermarket "T" stud that have a phillips head in them that are to be screwed into a drilled hole, another option is a shouldered rivet made to replace the welded "T" stud.
The main thing I'm really looking for is the location of the holes where the corner pieces "bolt" onto the car, and for some reason I'm thinking the end of the trim closest to the quarter glass is bolted also?

Thanks Dave! Mine originally had a vinyl top and was taken off before I got the car and was smoothed over.

    Tom,

Do you have pics or examples on where to get these kind of fasteners you mentioned? - Hi Steve,
Yes, I know the clips slide onto "T" studs, I have one style aftermarket "T" stud that have a phillips head in them that are to be screwed into a drilled hole, another option is a shouldered rivet made to replace the welded "T" stud.

    Hi Carl,
I ordered these through a local bodyshop. They had a catalog with all kinds of trim clips and fasteners. I can't remember the name of the company that produces them, but I'm sure it's a well known company to the bodyshop's, a company that has supplied this type of stuff for years.
    Hope this helps?

I think they are also listed in OPG catalog.

also, near each end of the stainless strip that is at the base of the vinyl roof below the rear window (valance), there is a special clip/bolt, oval shaped head, with an s-shaped spring steel wire near each end of the head. that is what attaches the trim to the valance.
i remember that someone, a few months ago, posted a picture of the studs that the plastic blue clipis mount to. i would love to obtain a set of those studs.
