Did the 70-72 Skylarks and GS's come with Shortail or Longtail THM 400's?

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I have a situation at hand . . .

    Skylarks and GS's use the short-tailed th400's.

That's good to know . . . are the crossmembers the same for both, or does the 400 have a different mounting location/offset?

If you have a assembly manual for your car just look at the trans mount page and it gives all the part #s. Should be easy to figure. If you don't have one let me know as I can look it up for you.

You can put a long tail TH400 in an A-body with the stock crossmember, but you will have to drill new holes further back in the frame to mount the crossmember, and, of course, shorten the driveshaft.
