In Concours class they will check date codes . Also they do check date codes on wheels . I have had points deducted in the past due to a wheel date code being wrong at BPG concours show .

I think they relaxed on the wheel date codes. The repro rallyes with the satin centers to the best of my knowledge are acceptable in concours

Whomever judged your car should be fired then.

Check condition of wheels. Points should be deducted for pits in the metal and for excessive paint chips. Beauty rings, center caps, lug nuts, etc., should be checked for condition and correctness for year and model.

Engine components will not be checked to determine if they are Numbers Matching.

Right from the BPG 400 point judging handbook.......

Maybe Duane will step in and see this . Duane and others judged our '70 GS 350 and we had points taking from us due to one wheel with the wrong date code .:pp

Yes, the Buick event seem to be; If it is a Buick part of the correct year, it is OK.

Watch the you tube video. Whats the deal with the A/C conmpressor not lining up with the alternator? No belt on it either. I like the looks of this car but its got some fishy stories. Orginal engine /trans gone. Buckets and console gone. floor shift collumn gone. Bucket seat brackets and console brackets gone. Just too much wrong I wonder if this isn't a rebody. Buyer beware.

He does stay that "Note: the A.C. lines & compressor belt were being replaced at the time the photos were taken".

And yeah Ive been watching it closely as I love the look of it.. but there's just to much changed/wrong for that to me a more than $20k car. Before the bidding reached that, I considered making a move on it. It was listed back in Jan too, it reached $19,500, and reserve not met. Sure it probably has the stage 1 pedigree, but the heart and valuable pieces are all gone.

    Its listed on Ebay again...
this time with a 'buy it now' of $38,500.00 !!!!:Do No:
For a Stage 1 car, that
does not have the original motor,
which means no stage 1 carb,
    no stage 1 distributor,
    not the original trans, and
likely not the original rear end.
Used to be a bucket seat car but now a bench?
I bet it reaches around the $20k mark again, and it doesn't sell.

I agree 100%. You can do way better for the money he's wanting. Even if it were a bucket seat no console car the seat brackets are different. I think hes hoping to get a Barrett Jackson Bump:rolleyes:

AACA Judges cars as it COULD have come from the factory, if bench seat was an oprtion there would be no point deduction. The event he listed was a regional event and not a National meet. At National events there are no Best of Show awards.
Nice car, would make a nice driver.

Exactly at the right price, anyone would be proud to drive that to a show.
But I think its around the $20k mark or less
