I have numerous crossmembers. Any pics or other way to identify the one that you are looking for? Thanks, Bob.
I understand the difference between the BB and SB crossmembers is the BB has the hole for the e-brake cable to pass through it. UticaGeoff
I was just looking at a couple I have the other day.I have one ,in good condition, just have to make sure its for the BB.I think it is ,just have to make sure, that is if rocketracer does no have it.Bruno.
Correct the crossmember will have an oval hole in the metal left to the transmount. Where the ebrake cable goes through
I just use the Oldsmobile style that has the slot and bolts directly to the frame. You might want it exact though.
I think you still need the BB just with the hole that you will not use. The part number is etched in the top side.
Yes that is what came with the car. Otherwise one with no cable hole will bear a small block part number on the floor pan side. In other words to my belief they use the same cross member for automatic and manual trans BB cars.
I have multiples of the one that Brian referenced (Olds style). I'll have to check my other ones for the hole. Thanks, Bob.
Ok.I do have a real clean BBB crossmember,it comes with the bracket that holds the hand brake cable that attaches to the extra hole, the SBB has one,but its much shorter then the BBB.And,if needed, I have the 4 metal and 2 rubber that attach to the ends of the crossmember.Bruno.
I do stock the re-pops if any one reading this needs to go that route. I also have all the Cushions, Mounting Brackets and correct Hardware which I sell in kit form. If Bruno has a nice clean original I would for sure go that route. Hard to beat nice clean original stuff!!! Hardware Kits . . . Cushions & Brackets . . . Complete Kits including hardware, Cushions & Brackets. . .
