Looks to be a real clean looking car. Probably worth checking out for someone in the market for a big block post car.

I emailed the seller and got some more info and a couple of pics. While I have never met him, I know "of him" by his name and reputation as a longtime Buick guy in Bremerton where I grew up.

The rear bumper is very nice and pretty straight. The tires are new and the wheels are 15 x 7's that I got from a guy in Arizona and look like new. The tires are 235/60 in the front and 255/60 in the rear. The wheels have the correct center caps also. It has a 308 posi and it is in great condition. It did not need a rebuild. The grill is perfect it is just painted satin black as the old silver color was really faded and didn't look good. The stainless is near perfect and straight. It also has a new fiberglass hood that I forgot to mention in the ad. The body was in pretty good shape before I stripped it to bare metal. There were only a couple of small areas of rust behind the left rear tire. The original color was Harvest Gold and I didn't much want to do that one. I'll attach some of the pictures and you let me know what you think.

1970 Buick Special 2 door post. This is a very rare model and there is not another one like this anywhere. This car is new from front to back. I have spent over three years putting it together. When I got it, there was no running gear, so I took a 430 from a 1967 Electra and and had it bored to 455. As you know, the 67 heads are the best flowing. Everything in this motor is new, pistons, cam ( a little lumpier than stock ), oil pump, oil pan, double roller timing chain, lifters, push rods, Edelbrock aluminum intake and carb. The alternator is a one wire and also new. I bought a heavy duty aluminum radiator, also. She runs strong and cool. The car has new FloMaster 40 series 2 1/2 inch dual exhaust that lets it breathe easy and sounds great. The turbo 400 is also new with a 2300 stall torque converter. The brake system has been gone through and replaced with new shoes, wheel cylinders and master cylinder and power brake booster. The interior is redone with new seat covers and carpeting. The door panels and headliner are original and in very good condition. They did not need to be replaced. As you can see in the pictures, I installed the great looking wood grain steering wheel. The paint is one year old and it is nice and bright. I pulled the front bumper and had it rechromed and added the spoiler for the good looks. The trunk and floor pans are nice and solid. All you need to do is drive it and enjoy it for many years to come. I have put probably put 500 miles on it since it has been completed. I am looking to sell it or would trade for a Buick Skylark convertible of equal value or possibly a station wagon from 1965-72. Give me a call with what you have or an offer. 360 792 0711

Looks like a nice car, and easily worth his asking price in parts and labor alone. Are you going to go look at it Chris?

No, I need to downsize, not add. If I go look, I am afraid I will end up buying it.

I've been sort of drooling over that one.
Very nice car. A little new for my taste, but a very nice car.

  6. i'd be a little leary of the 430 bored to 455. unless sonic tested to ensure plenty of material, those cylinder walls might be very thin
