EMBLEM they have been bringing 750-800 at the meets,a friend of mine bought a bunch of em in the late 80, early 90s when GM pulled the number, they were 28.00 bucks
The one offered on ebay is the late 70 emblem. Until about December 69 they were argent silver on the background. Hard to find one of those NOS. YO is working on a new batch of emblems. They will not say if this one they once carried is included. I hope so. If they are good quality it should cut the NOS back to 350 or so.
I have a May 70 car Skylark 350/2 with a silver emblem. Have seen pictures of the car new with that emblem. If they stopped sing them in 12/69, I wonder if mine was a leftover? Paul
I believe the 1970 model year GS had argent bumper emblems until a date uncertain in Dec. 1969. About that same time the clear lids for the unflow tanks were changed to black and the dash lens were changed from pointed to flat. Ask Duane to verify.
If I recall....GS and Skylark Custom(s) came with the black bumper emblem. Skylarks came with argent. Base Skylarks (6 cyl) had no bumper emblem.
dont know what the date where for all the changes but it seems to be hit and miss my stage 1 with an oct 69 build date has black over flow and pointed lenses, the 70 skylark custom im parting out with a third week of feb 70 build has clear overflow and flat lensesand argent bumper emblem
Korrie If that is true I sure have been under a misunderstanding. When my friend Mitchell restored his black GS shown in Muscle Car Enthusiast he had a complete car. It was early in the 70 run, a black GS, and had an argent silver emblem. I believe it won BG last year with the silver emblem and my dog dish hub caps. Perhaps Duane and Brad could speak to this issue when they see this debate.
Early Vs.Later My Stage 1 has pointed lens, clear overflow tank and black rear bumper insert with chrome BUICK letters. Build date Sept.69
