I believe these are called a dashpot that go by carb. The rubber on mine is ripped can you replace this or can I get a whole new unit that looks factory correct ?
    Thanx Dave

New dashpots have not been available for many years. Occasional nos turn up from time to time. Keep an eye on ebay. I have a nos one or two, but, it may take a few months before I could find them.

I bought one at a swap meet for about $15. The dashpot itself is pretty much universal and fully adjustable. You should have no problem finding one.

Ive had nothing but bad experiences with them!!!!! I hate to bad mouth people or companies, I know were all here to make a little and so on, but Ive repeatedly recieved the wrong part. Also, if you dont have a part, dont say you do and leave a note in the shipment "sorry but we dont have it". To top it all off, If youre a supplier of quality replacement parts, make sure theyre quality!

I bought one for a 60 Buick, and it was the right one...and brand new. I'd almost be willing to say they're the exact same part as the one I listed (without looking).

I'm just saying, they are available new. Whether you feel comfortable with the supplier or not is your choice.

Thanks so much to everyone commenting first of all. Just re-assures me of why this site is so great.

Adam : I am not sure where to find the DP-611 you reference there. I see under 70 Buick parts a GM part # for Like $29-30 bucks ?

Matt : If yours is a good working used one that I can kinda re-furbish then I would have interest in it.
I live in Ontario Canada though.

    Thanx Dave

Anyone know the original part number for the 70 GS455 car ?

I just would like to be certain I am getting the right piece.

I see n before this post that some places post them as a D5-38R # or a GM part number ?

Looks like there was many, many different sizes and dimensions for the actuator sitting out and the threaded stud base length.

Matt I sent you another PM .

Hey Dave, glad to see that old car of mine is still getting the care it deserves.
I'll look in my parts books tonight and see what I can come up with on that part number for you, unless someone else beats me to it.

Well Dave, looks like Steve beat me to it.
My November '79 book lists the same :
    "#1376158 for '68-'71 350-400-430-455 Eng. A.T. (1971 1st type)"
    Cost in 1979 was $5.40!

I still want to see those pics! :TU:
