I thought they had posted already that they were shipping, a couple weeks ago? Maybe I misread it. I'm sure they posted pics of boxes upon boxes of grilles on the way out the door. Has anyone taken delivery yet?

Our second shipment is do in any time now, they have corrected the colors so thats what the hold up is. This shipment should be enough to fill all the back orders. Thanks

It pains me to do this.... but, I will publicly give TPP 2 thumbs down...It seems you can return the incorrectly painted grilles back to them but pay the difference of what they cost now. I know this as a fact as Dustin purchased one the minute they were announced. Now that he waited, and they sent him the wrong colored one, they expect him to pay the difference for what one would cost if bought now. That is the worst practice I have ever witnessed except the terrible deal that OPG gave me. I will not purchase parts from TPP as I don't like the feeling of being screwed by a company.... considering they made the screw up in the first place. I am totally disgusted by this deal and will opt to not do business with them. Even though the grille structurally is nice, this type of incident will keep me from being a future customer. I cannot believe that people busted Jeff Strube's butt about over charging 50 dollars on shipping, but let this 100 dollar mess up go unadressed.
    TPP should be ashamed !
    This is my opinion and

Isn't Jim fixing the grilles at no cost??

Isn't that TPP's responsibility???I have no problem with Jim doing it but TPP should stand behind their product. I know for fact if they offered up an even trade almost all that received the incorrect grilles would return them.

Jim and TPP worked together on this and Jim said he would paint them correctly and send them back at no charge. All you have to do is send him the grill. The longer you wait the longer it will take. I dont see the problem. I have the grill and am very happy with it. (not painted correctly but easy fix-easier than grue prep and paint) They will also be making the 67 grill I need and they are looking to make more Buick only parts. We should be happy that they are taking this on. Yeah they make money and we get parts. I think it is better then nobody makes money and we dont have parts.

:bglasses: Super shady deal on those 70 grills Parts Place. I know, it's too bad for me that I prefer to have a new, fresh out of the box, "FACTORY PAINTED" correct grill (which IS what I paid for after all ) over one that's been reworked by someone. Way to go. :TU:

Partner there is no factory paint here just a guy in Taiwan on an assembly line. There is no question that as between the two JW will take more time and pride in the final product than an assembly line worker.

Every Buick Factory NOS 70 grille I have ever seen would be eclipsed by a repaint from Dave Tumas or JW. The Buick Factory paint was very marginal. The ones I have on our better cars I have had repainted even though they were right out of the box.

Bottomline is mine is not painted correct!
If people that payed 399 like me are recieving grills correctly painted then I am out the shipping to JW and however long it takes him to get it painted and back to me.

Also if I get it back from JW and I am not happy with the paint job then what do i do?

I dont understand why TPP place cant exchange mine with a correct one and just give the uncorrectly painted ones to JW to do on his own time not mine.

When I talked to TPP on the phone they acted like It was all JW's fault and said I have to deal with him about the paint.

That is not good Business in my opinion.

    UPDATE:

2-15-06 Grille from The Parts Place has arrived.......... and correctly painted, I might add!! I can retire the epoxy and superglue this summer and enjoy the car shows, knowing no one is looking at the grille and shaking their heads.

Thanks TPP for making this........ it's a very nice piece! :TU:
