I am re-installing the original factory AM radio in a '70 car - someone had pulled it and installed a Realistic cassette/radio many years ago and tossed some of the factory connectors. The car retains the original underdash 8 track player.

With these missing plastic housings/terminal connectors all I have is a bunch of cut wires coming out of the 8 track.

I have a good copy of a page from the '70 Assembly Manual..clearly shows where the various plastic terminal housings/connectors are BUT DOES NOT SHOW WIRE COLORS for wires that go into the various connectors.

    >There is a large plastic terminal housing coming out of the back of the 8 track (CLEAR PLASTIC/FEMALE HOUSING) and I have the BLACK PLASTIC/MALE HOUSING that attaches to it (see pic #1 below).

    >As you can see the black plastic/male housing also has all the original wires coming out of it (8 wires total) BUT this is where someone removed/cut the wires (see pic #2.....these are the wires I've got coming out of the black male terminal housing BUT THIS PIC DOES NOT INCLUDE THE BLUE WIRE AND A WHITE/PINK? STRIPE WIRE BECAUSE I ALREADY KNOW WHERE THOSE TWO ATTACH - one to the AM radio blue wire and one to the rear speaker wire lead).

    >The assembly shows that the 6 wires in PIC#2 below go to TWO SEPARATE 3 terminal plastic housings....and the Assembly Manual page clearly shows where each 3 wire terminal housing connects to (one goes to the front speaker terminal and the other goes into the back of the AM Radio.

    >BUT......the Assembly Manual page DOES NOT show the colors of the wires that go into each of these two 3-wire terminal housings....THAT'S WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR

    >So....in pic #2 below which shows the 6 out of 8 Eight Track wires.....does anyone have a clear pic of the two 3 wire terminals that make up the other end of the 8 track harness????

One reason I ask is some of these 6 wires DON'T MATCH UP to other possible wires in the whole radio setup in terms of color and/or striping.

If anyone has a factory 8 track with the harness connected on the back and the two 3 wire terminals (with wires) on the other end a pic would be a HUGE HELP!

Thanks very much for any help on this one. IMG_6126.jpg IMG_6127.jpg

Patton, here is a pic of a repro harness. I believe what you say is true...like I think a white wire or w/bl wire, actually mates with the blue rr speaker wire. I have one in my garage, I'll check it if nobody else responds. It looks like G/Y/Black solid wires go to the male plug that plugs into the radio. G/Y w/stripes and black go to a female plug that your dash harness plugs into. I copied this pic, it's not my actual harness.

Frank - Thank you very much. Still not 100% clear in that pic....looks like the "black" wire on the far R of the pic may actually be a black wire with a stripe? (I have a black/white stripe wire AND a solid black wire in this harness).

Anyway......do you have a source on this harness where you got the pic from? I've done a preliminary check on ThePartsPlace, M&H Wiring and some others and didn't yet see this repro harness (which I ought to go ahead and buy to save a bunch of time).

    Thank you.
