How about this,Fathers special ordered GS in 69. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1970....c0.m245&_trkparms=72:317|65:12|39:1|240:1309
I say let 100 of us interested V8 members all invest in this car and have it 3.6 days out of the year! I'm in!!!!!!!!!
Is it really up for bid or is it a scam again? This car has been listed two or more times and has been removed. Be careful!
Man! That thing is worth any price. Did you see those foamies? Original I'd bet.:beer :beer Awesome. Just imagine if the guy had ordered a 4 speed convertible... WOW!
He says he listed it a couple of times to feel the market, but now his Dad is ready to sell to the high bidder.Either way I don't think this qualifies as a scam.
others said it best...it looks today like most others looked in 1971. So is a Stage car with lots of options worth more or less than a bare bones Stage car ?
Why oh why isn't this a car at Barrett Jackson? If there ever was a Gran Sport that belonged there this is it. If its as described he would do way better there than EPay As for the value of a optioned Stage 1 well its up to the market. A lot of us love these for their muscle and that means no options , 4spd, no radio and no a/c. Manual brakes and steering. But there is quite an audience for a fully optioned GS as well. I happen to like the options on a car that I'll be driving . This one is more like a museum piece. So for this one I don't think it mattters much. A 23K mile 4 spd no option car would probably have at least as much attention as this one. This is of course my opinion and not worth much just ask the wife:laugh:
Car is the real deal. Chris is a great guy to work with. His Dad has had this car stored for many years in a climate controlled garage. Would make a great addition to someones collection. After he had listed it before he was going to take it to B-J. I have nt spoke to him since.
Also he quotes; My father ordered the car with every option available. Why doesn't it have sport (maybe chrome) side mirrors? On the best note; that sure is nice...
Chrome on 70 Stage 1 unless its a GSX. As for the Bumper emblem I have a 70 with no emblem but I took it off a Post sedan
Is it just me or does the car look like it has the aluminum power drums up front? There's one or two very clear shots that look like the aluminum drums and not rotors. Anyone else notice?
Disc brakes were just an option on the '70 cars and the GS's didn't necessarily come with them. I'd venture to say most had the drum setup. Disc brakes are heavy!
Great car! I'll be watching to see how high this goes. Question: What's making the oil pressure guage peg to above "H" ?
They do that when they are disconnected. Such as when adding an after market gauge package. I wonder what this car would do if it was a nice color without the vinal top, and a floor shifter. Will the lack of those items hold this back a little?
