Let me try this again. I am looking for a 1970 Buick GS Stage 1. I want a numbers matching car. The condition of the vehicle does not matter to me, I'll consider any car, as long as it is numbers matching. I planned on buying one, but it fell through because the transmission did not match. So... Does anybody want to sell me there Stage 1? :Brow:

    70 stage 1.

HA HA HA.... You will find one sooner or later like you say you just have to keep looking. I found mine back in oct 03 on ebay for 10.000 bucks and that included an open car trailer with it. I got real lucky the car is mint and no rust ever and stayed inside all the time. But it does not have the orig trans and rear. Good luck on your search and i will keep a look out for you. :TU:

Thanks, I appreciate it. I'm just waiting until I find what I want. Sooner or later something will come along. Hopefully sooner than later though.

That is one of the reasons these cars are so expensive. If you are an old guy like me you cannot afford to wait. Money I make every day but time that just keeps ticking away

Well Well Well...... Have you ever thought about being burried in a stage 1 when the time comes?

It can be done.... That way when you go to the spirit world you will have your ride with you.

I would like to be burried in mine sitting behind the drivers seat of course with my race helmet on and my 357 colt python strapped to my side and all my rifles and shot guns in the trunk. That way when they dig me up 10 billion years from now they will say this guy must have been some one special. And if there is a spirit world at least i will come prepared.....

    sparkplug,

All 70 Stage 1 cars were built in Flint, Michigan. I do not believe this is true for the 71 and 72 cars, but don't quote me on that.

70 GS stage one all orig 34k miles

I have just stumbled on a one owner 70 GS stage one 34k orig mile the guy has all the orig paperwork from day one. Blue white top and bench int. Never wrecked never rusty one repaint and new tires all else orig. AC, PS, PDB posi rear. I am going to be looking at this car in the next 2 weeks. This guy is going to sell but has not given me a price, he knows its rare but I don't know what hes going to ask. I hoping not over $20k. Send me an email as to what you might be willing to pay. The paint is nice but not perfect according to him I have not seen the car yet. He is very well off financially so I know hes not yanking my chain.

Per board rules: If you're offering a car for sale either as your own or for someone else, a selling price and location needs to be listed.

    Thanks! :TU:

I believe spb350 was making conversation.. Not selling a car that he hasn't even seen yet..Back to my question..I have heard that all Stage 1 cars were build in Flint MI... Does anybody know of any that were build elsewhere? Or is there some kind of paperwork out there that substatiates this? Just courios..

You may very well be right. However, as board moderators, we have to make people (especially those posting for the first time) aware of these things so as to eliminate what could potentially become a problem.

    Back to your question.....

This website, www.stage1registry.com should answer most of your Stage 1 questions.

    Hope that helps. :TU:

Thanks for the info Brett and Chris...I have a 71 GS 455 but I was not sure on the Stage1 options.. I see the guy whom had it before me has a rally gage set in the back of the car... Tach,Not dummy light gages and Speed alert speedo.. Plus the pointed lenses..It also has a posi rearend, but not the original engine, its a 72 gs motor (ws) code... I have the original tranny 400turbo but wasn't sure on the numbers... This car has a Z code for plant which if I remember correctly is California..Scince I have all the parts to do it I will be putting all the Stage 1 options on this car.. I know i will probably never be able to afford a real one but I can look like I can.. Thanks for the help guys..Always a pleasure.. Randy.

Sorry guys hate to make a mistake on my 1st post. I was replying to an ad on "Cars Wanted" not really to the general public. This car may be available shortly. If I buy it and decide to sell it I will post it in the proper place. Steve

    spb 350,

I would definitely like first shot at this car, even if you do not want to buy it from whoever has it. I just sent you a PM. Please let me know what's going on with this car when you find out. Thanks.

    Brian
