I'd be interested in knowing about this ride also.

I drove out to Virginia to see this car but did not buy it. I can give a detailed report to anyone interested in it. When I looked at it his bottom dollar was $13300. When I got home and looked at the ad, the price is now $12500.

Question is though Steve, would you have bought it at even at $12,500? Didn't think so. What do you think its worth?

It is on eBay now too.........

Chris, If the rear end didn't howl, I would have considered it. The owner kept stating "Hey, I'm not hiding anything". Yeah, that's true, but he wasn't offering up anything that's wrong with the car either.

When you confront people about not telling you about all the things wrong with a car BEFORE you make a 1200+ mile round trip to look at it, It gets old hearing the old "I never said it was a show car" or "It's 41 years old whaddaya expect?"

I'm starting to think these cars are at a age where unless they have been in a sealed environment or from a desert environment, they are simply going to start rusting away. Is there such a thing as a $10k-$15k rust free 1970-72 GS? I'm not from Missouri, but "SHOW ME!"

The question remains; Could you build a car for this price?? When you look it overall, it's very nice for a big block car. To me, $12,500 is a good deal when you factor that, nice paint and interior. I have not seen this car close up but it looks good in the pics, well detailed.. Wheels are cool. Great weekend warrior..

    My 2 cents.

    Hey CJP69.. Hows it going?

Could you build this car for $12.5?? Depends on what you started with. Selective photography is an amazing thing. If a rusty, rear end howling, ripped interior, no heater having car is a good deal for that money, I'm in the wrong market.

    Hey Mike, going good!!!

The car does photograph well, BUT, it has rust in both front fenders and around the rear window under the vinyl top. It also has had a quarter panel blended. Ripped interior with a bad spray on dye job. Howling rear end.

SO, to be a real nice car, you need a new interior, rust repair, new vinyl top, new paint job, rebuild the rear end. Now you are buried.

Better off buying a nice GS350 or Skylark and put in your own running gear.

If you want a 10 footer weekend warrior, then this is probably a good car. Or you could buy that stage 1 rebody 70 that was for sale for awhile. It was faster than this one.... Either way you will probably be upside down in it soon after your purchase.

WOW.. Didn't realize the problems with this car - I'm obviously wrong on this one.. The pics look great though..

No wonder Steve S decided not to buy..

    What a shame..

It's back again. The new BIN price is $11 500. Looks like the seller is more motivated. Is the car worth it?

I'm glad I saw this thread! I was seriously considering driving out to see it too. I had asked the seller several question but haven't gotten a reply...guess I know why not

I think it honestly depends on what you are looking for. If you are happy with the car the way it is, then yes, I think it is worth the money. But if you were to repair all the things wrong, then you would be into it for more than it's worth. That is unless you own a body shop and can do automotive upholstery, and can set up a 12 bolt.
