Just goes to show, "restored to as close to original as possible" means something different to everyone. I didn't know GM used blue and red battery cables.

Still, I'd love to have it.

Back in 1988, these cars werent worth too much. Most were just used up old muscle cars. They were just starting to gain value, but were still being used for thier intended purpose. An automatic was more consistent for drag racing and didnt break as many axles and driveshafts as a 4 speed. My one of nine made, 71 Stage 1 4 speed convertible was converted to an automatic back in the mid 80's. Luckily when I finally got alhold of it, it was a 4 speed again

Not to mention the MSD box on the firewall, the chrome valve covers, and lid :)

You would think a person trying to sell a car for 25k would detail the interior better.

I cna tell you one thing, those aftermarket floor mats have probably been in the car since the early 70's. I have the same ones in the Riviera. I dont think the interior presents poorly. The interior just looks original. It looks clean and vacuumed and not slathered with Armor All ( I hate that). Its screaming for a woodgrain kit, but aside from that..

Looks like cornet gold. Other than a few detail items under the hood and the obvious change back to a 4 speed would do this car wonders. It's my kind of car, nice color combo, big block, and no a/c. Id love to have it. Even has the unobtainium passenger side mirror.
