70' gs455 th 400 shift linkage problem

    I seem to have a recurring problem with the shift linkage. The latest is after trip I went to put the shifter in Park and it would not move up. So am able to move from Drive to Reverse or to Neutral only. I have adsjuted the linkage under the car a few months back when the shifter travel was not in proper range ( could not get low gears ). Wondering if the surge - jump that sometimes occurs when shifting to Drive or Reverse has caused the linkage trunion bolt to loosen up ? So my Q is if this is the horeshoe shifter problem loose screws / U shaped plate needs replacing as seen in other post or just the the linkage adjustment under the car. It seems like there is a hard stop when trying to go to Park from Reverse or from Drive to LI , L2.

    I also noticed when fixing my heater control I had to drop the steering column and the tighteing of teh hosuing bolts effects the position and sync up between indicator on instrument panel and position of the Horshoe shifterr. There is a smal chain or linkage connected between interacts with the adjsutment

    Any feedback / thougts appreciatted. I figure I need to get under the car again. As it is now the ignition key is locked in the ignition, with Tran in Nuetral with E brake on...
