Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t that a short numbers speedo?

That’s a really good find but in bad shape. Shame

    docgsx It's not a GTX

Sad… Restoring it will cost more than it’s probably worth.

I texted Eric Stoldt. Hes got a picture of it from at least 15-20 years ago of it under the tree.

Eric said the story goes that the original owner raced the snot out of it. Not the original engine. The original owner drove a tow truck. Three years after he bought it, he hit some high tension wires with the tow truck and fried himself. The car happened to be outside at the time and that's where it sat. Eric said he has a ton of pictures of it when it was up for sale. It was for sale for 20k with was about 15k more than it was worth at that time,

That's A shame, I can tell by the video that car hasn't be there that long ,that building is to new to be there since 1973.

That car came from Porter Buick in Delaware, same place my GSX was sold new. They probably sat on the lot together, cool!

Cool find. any reason rear window trim was removed? Leak? Vid qual makes it hard to see but is that daylight in the trunk floor? Certainly restorable compared to some out there.

"Provenance" be danged! Yup, the trunk floor was swiss cheese. If it were stored properly maybe, but sitting under trees in mud for 20 years? Unfortunately that ol' girl is pretty much gawn unless youd drive a "rare" GSX beater. Thats not too far from Jason is it??

We all know what it is, what its worth and what it would take, but the sad thing is some kid will get it and take it all apart and thatll be the end of it. ws

Or it’ll disappear from the Buick world for two years, a nice Flint built Skylark will die, and the X will return with a ‘no expense spared’ restoration at Barret Jackson. Then it’ll be poked and picked by the people here, and soneone will say ‘wasn’t that car discussed here? Let me find the thread’.

Patrick You are probably correct. No doubt that one of "the" resto places doing it. Couldn't be a GSCA decal as the club wasn't started until the early 80s.
I could see Jason driving a beater GSX. Hell I would too.

There was a yellow X in Bowling Green twenty years ago that had rust in the front lower fenders, very faded stripes, and a general shabbiness that would make a perfect driver now. I think the owner wanted low 20s then. I’d drive either car!

Me driving a beater GSX? Pfft.....been there, done that! Had one when I was 18:cool::D. Was my daily driver. As a matter of fact, my old GSX is currently owned by a board member

I don't understand why someone would save this "X" from
being parked under a tree for years and just stick it in a
garage in 1987 with not one bit of effort to protect the car from
    further deterioration.
Is it just me that thinks this way ??????????????????
My car is not perfect and I don't like getting it wet !!

It's restorable. I have brought worse back from the dead.
If a person can do much of the work themself, retained or reused as much of the original parts as possible, and just did a cosmetic frame on resto, you could keep the cost reasonable, but you would have to be able to buy it right to begin with, and I don't think thats possible when talking about a Stage 1 4 speed White GSX.

The seller wanted 20k in 1993, so I doubt the price had adjusted for the better.

Now, just for the sake of discussion, what are your price estimates for it in its present condition. Bearing in mind its not the original engine. Im curious to see what you guys think
