Does anyone know of a kit or a list of parts to rebuild the rollers and tracks on a 70 GSX? The nylon wheels are braking and the windows are not on the tacks so they need to be rebuilt. I thought it would be agood idea to somply rebuild them all so they work like new and eliminate the risk of having a window fall off the trach and breaking.

Point me to a "Step-by-Step How Too" if one exists please!

    Thanks,

    Rob

There are new repro rollers available from any Vette supplier. Since you are in FL you can get them from www.ecklers.com which is in Daytona Beach/Titusville. You need to make sure your rollers are greased with lithium grease and your oil wick is soaked (located on the vertical guide pole).

I also have a complete set of manual window regulators for sale. You never stated if you have manual or power windows.

    George,

Your ID mentions "Sunny Seminole, FL".... I'm down south in La Belle, FL (30 miles east of Ft. Myers). Let me know when there's any car shows or get togethers in the area and I'd love to meet up and say "hello."

I am picking up the car next weekend and I've been making a list of the "little" things I want to get taken care of quickly. There will always be a list but having the windows go up-and-down is near the top.

    Oh yeah, manual windows.

    Thanks,

    Rob

Sure....no problem....our next local Buick get together is our monthly meetins here in Pinellas county. We meet at 7pm and usually meetings last for about 2 hrs. No big event here since we just had our BOPC race in Gainesville in Dec.

As for manual windows.....I will have a set from a car I am changing to power windows. Let me know if you are interested in them.

Hey Rob. A suggestion I might make is check with your local auto glass shops and have them look in their "C.R.Lawrence" or "Sommer and Maca (SOMACA)" books. They should have damn near anything you might need(For sure, the rollers) between the two books. They might even have some of the parts there at the shop. I know we had all kinds of rollers on hand when I worked at Harmon Autoglass up in Omaha and I know that Florida was a big market for Harmon. They sold out to Glass Doctor so you might have to check with them. They are operating under the name "Harmon Glass Doctor" now. Hope this helps.
