70 Olds 442 conv

    What`s this car worth? It`s a 1970 Olds 442 conv, 455, pace car, white with black interior.

    Is there any way you can tell if it`s a factory pace car? Here`s the vin: 344670m314230

    The data plate on the firewall should have the code Y79. If it doesn't, it's not a pace car.

    They made 268 of them, but they're not hard to find, so don't go out of your way for it if you have flipping fantasies. However, 4-speeds are really rare.

    I don't feel qualified to say what it's worth, but 50 grand will probably get you a good #2 car.

    Even though I own an Olds, I know more about Mopars and Pontiacs.:Dou:

    I could have mixed things up, so let's see if someone else joins to clarify while I try to dig a little deeper.:Comp:

    *Y79* is indeed an SX model.

    *Y74* is the Pace Car :TU:

    A nice one with 455 just sold this weekend at Mecum for around 40k.
