I was chatting with a paint guy today. He asked what kind of car it was for. Told him it was for my 70 buick. He asked if it was a GS. I was shocked. He has a 66 with a 401. And the question I have is he has a 1970 Skylark with a 455, 4 speed buckets and factory tach. He says it is not a GS. Were there many cars built like this? Maybe I should take a better look at this car? Really don't know if it is for sale or not.
If he has what he says he has, it's either a GS or not factory produced. No Skylarks were made with a 455. You could get a 350 HP in a Skylark however. Most GS's were made for a customer that wanted a Skylark "with passing power" or to tow a trailer. They liked the looks of the A body but wanted/needed a big engine.
Thanks Brad, Think I will check it out a little more. Maybe get the vin and cowl tag info if possible. Mark
I have just started talking with the guy. Will post on the cars for sale/ leads thread if either or both are buyable. Mark
