Found this car earlier while surfing. Looks like Diplomat Blue (if my eyes don't decieve me) 1970 Stage 1 4spd non air car for sale in Chicago area. Car has an auto in it now, though he has the #'s match 4-speed and peddles to go along with the car. 3.64 rear end and a decked but correct engine with 64,000 miles and the car is original. $30,000

    Party on... :TU:

I believe this was discussed here before. No way to tell if it is original motor if it has been decked unless the vin is stamped on it still.....Nice car though:3gears:

You must have called him. Did he say the numbers were visible on deck? or code dated correct. Love those options... have none or have them all. Sure seems to be a lot of nice cars out there for a good price.

He said the block was decked at some time, though a friend of his had verified the casting numbers for him for the heads. I think this is what he was using to validate the "numbers match" part about the car. He said that the car has an automatic transmission in it at present, though he has the linkage, peddles, and numbers matched transmission to go along with the car. He doesn't have any documentation (Roberts or Sloan) and he thinks the build sheet for the car is incorrect as the back seat appears to have been swaped out at some point in time. There is rust in the quarters.

Very nice looking car though with really cool options. It seems that the price is somewhat comensorate with the issues and present state of the car. I wish him all the best with his sale. I haven't been on here in a long time, so I'm sorry if I am overlapping.:Dou:

If that is Manny's old car, it's one bad ass GS! I remember seeing that car drive to Union Grove and run 12's back in the 80's which was super fast back then. It was impressive!:TU:

Does anyone know the original history on the car? About 12 years ago I looked at a Blue 70 stg1/4spd that was originally sold to a Buick employee. He bought it for his son. Only option it had was a rear window defrost, nothing else. Kick myself for passing on it.

This is Manny's old car. If anyone else knows what happened to the car after Manny sold it, Pete would love to know.
