70 stage 1 front drums, What size?

    I have a numbers matching 70 GS stage 1 with manual brake drums it has cast iron type drums on it now .What I need to know is what type of aluminum drums I need.Number of fins, diameter(12" or 9")drums,and what size brakes( 2",2-1/4" etc ) any Help would be greatly appreciated Thanks Steve

    Doubt you will find any alum front drums. Those were discontinued for a reason. Also, they have been banned from drag strips.

    GS4551970 70 Buick GS 455

    63 fins,2 1/2 in. wide brake shoe, inside dia.of the drum is 9 1/2, and outside fin to fin is 13 in. I have them on both my 70 455 and Stage1 car. The spindle's are different than your standard drum spindle

    Just wondering, what's different about the GS "alum drum" spindles? Have just about destroyed all the backing plates from '68-70 alum drum spindles I have while using the torch, but still have the loose spindles.
