Just saw this on an eBay link. I’m very familiar with the car as I ran with the owner back in the day and he was my Buick mentor. Well worth the $35k but it is not an original Stage 1. I’ll try to attach the photo. If anyone is interested in the car let me know and I’ll fill you in.

pic of the ebay post. I don't believe the mileage is accurate. Car was always garaged and never driven in the rain. BA tranny with KB switch pitch. 118 cam. KB Stage 3 heads. Car was parked for 20 plus years. 12 second car. Never wrecked. Never towed using those straps under the front bumper so it's perfectly straight. Mallory Unilite ignition. 1000TQ. This truly is what Hemmings Muscle Machines refers to as a day 2 car.

Looks like I’m going to have to catch up on the posts. Owner’s name is Mike. He had a 60's Skylark so when the time came to buy a hot car he went with Buick. He knew about the Stage 1 but why he didn't get it is still a subject for debate. Ordered it with a bench sit so the girls could sit next to him, seriously. Anyway, his peers were running the fast stripped down models and every time he got beat he would make a beeline to Steak 'n Shake and stuff quarters into the pay phone so he could call Jim Bell in CA. How he found out about Jim I have no idea. So piece by piece he built a Stage 1. That's why it has 3.64s with the A/C. It has a Stage 1 valve body in the tranny which like most Buicks was rebuilt with a roller clutch after he rolled the sprag. Exhaust was your basic Midas 2 1/2" with Corvair Turbo Mufflers. The scratch on the left 1/4 was done by Mike when he backed his mom's car out of the garage. I believe he upgraded the radio to factory stereo which I believe was not a factory option in '70. Mike was an electronics genius and he was very meticulous with everything he did including the GS. The replacement block was Mike's doing as well and done under warranty. He felt the oil pressure was low and when the dealer did not agree he went out and blew it up. The real questions is what happened to Mike's parts. He never got rid of anything so the original air cleaner, carb, cam, heads, etc. are still out there. I guess the paint was a result of him wanting something different. Professionally done in a very heavy brown metal flake with lots of coats sprayed. Regarding the GS being in storage, Mike parked his 3 cars when he started a family. One was an iron head Stage 2 car that he sold about 18 years ago. At that time the cars had been in storage about 18 years. Whether or not he got this GS out and drove it during that period I have no idea as I moved out of the St. Louis area many years ago. I speak of Mike in the past tense because I can't imagine him selling the car if he was still alive but he may well be. I have 1 picture of our 3 Buicks I'll try to post.
