How's about this jewel? eBay Motors Buick item# 230009798443 My Name is Glen and Yes I am computer technically challenged.
Personally I would not bid on a private ID auction for a car because it makes the invitation for a phantom bidder even worse.
I agree about the potential phantom bidder problem. You just have to be confident in your ability to value the car independent of the other bidders. More importantly, does anyone know the story behind this car??? Is it owned by a member of this forum?
That GS is from Eisemann Buick in Hicksville, NY. Still a Buick dealer, but now called Mack Buick. The original owner lived in my hometown of East Meadow. Growing up, I remember seeing it in the street on rare occations as I rode my bicycle by it. It used to have double whitewall tires on it. Funny, I remember admiring it when I was a kid and saying that I was going to buy one just like it. Owned by one of the Massholes. I saw the car up close at Jim Shiels BBQ last year. The car is stunning. Theres going to be no disappointments when the new owner picks it up. Im going to be watching this one! :TU:
Herb If pointing out it has headers is picking I am going to have to plead gulity. It would not be by my definition. Appears to be a nice car that may set a new ebay record for a non GSX or convert.
Wonder if it will top the blue 4 speed Stage 1 that sold at Mecum - Chicago auction in May? I think that one went for $100k. I would be surprised if this one gets that high, not as much ego and alcohol involved in a eBay auction.
That wasn't directed at you flyn I have seen the car in person and can give anyone an honest description of the car. Dont let the dealer plate scare you this car is owned by a true Buick guy. :TU:
I think the point of mentioning the exhaust was that with this type of car, which certainly will be way up there in price, any devation from stock can hurt it's price dramatically for a collector. Let's face it, it's unlikely that a car like this is going to be driven very much anymore, it's sales price will be a factor in that. I had the car pointed out to me privately, and really love it, but consider the non stock exhaust and headers as it's only major detraction. I guess we will see what the market will bear for this vehicle. It may go six figures, but it's my opinion that with the proper exhaust on it, and some very minor detailing things, it would have a better shot at that. JW
