Joe, the owner over there, called me up the other day and wanted to send out a sample lense for me to inspect, since there had been some rumors floating around about missing numbers and such on them.

It came today, and I took a little time and inspected it, and I can tell you it looked fantastic!

All the GM numbers are there and it's and excellent quality piece, with good attention to detail.

I sure hope all the stuff he is making is gonna be this good.. I will be stopping by to inspect their new one piece trunk pan, with a section of an original pan, to match them up, and if they are right, will be bringing one back to the shop with me. We have needed a good trunk pan for some time, I have had that three piece setup sitting in a car for some time now, all cut out and ready to weld in, but it's just "against my religion" to weld in something like that.. it's just not nice enough.

I hopefully also can eyeball that 71 grill..

I know there has been some ruckus here lately about this place, but you guys have to understand, this is an outfit that just is getting into Buicks, so they are not "hip" to all the ins and outs, and don't know everyone like the rest of us do.. so you have to cut them a little slack. I'm working with them, to bring them up to speed.

From what I have seen so far, there seems to be a firm commitment on the owners part to get the parts done, and get them right.. which is what we need.

I will be a happy man the day I open a box, with a pair of 70-72 ragtop rear outer wheehouses in it..

Tell them just to get off their butts and do us 73-74 owners some stuff.I know thats wishful thinking but it seems the 65-67 and 73-75 guys always miss out.Even something little would be appreciated.BTW, Received the package the other day...Thanks

When they first came out I bought the PP's lens and really thought they were the best I had seen. I tried the other vendor first and there were just too many problems with the set I was sent so I returned them.

A decent, full, one peice pan would be really nice. I need a pan for my new project and I'll wait and see what you think.

Reproduction of an auto part especially one that old does not necessarily require a license. Without getting into the applicability of trade dress patents the rights to trade names and marks do continue. Examples of where GM rights might continue are emblems containing the word Buick, registered logos etc.

So as example you may be able to remake a grille without a problem but be prohibited from making the emblem to go on it because it contains the words GSX by Buick. I would not however make a grille with the factory part number on it.

Some parts are advertised as GM licensed. Is GM itself a trademark name? I believe it is on the lenses. Wouldn't it be a good advertising tool? I have allready bought a set of lenses from Alan, I liked mine but I would be interested in seeing a set of these up close myself.
