'70 Windshield Antenna?

I'm a ways off on this, but on a car that didn't come w/a radio option, did the windshield still get an antenna? There was a dealer installed AM radio kit that would've required it & I can't imagine they were changing out the windshield or adding an antenna on the fender as the kit was pretty complete - I don't have an NOS kit (anymore) to look @ the instructions but if anyone does, would you mind taking a look? IIRC, the kit included the cable to hook up to a windshield antenna which would seem to indicate that every car got one unless there are instructions that say to change the windshield.

Seems like given the very low % of cars that didn't get a radio option, that it would've made more sense economically to just put the same windshield (w/ or w/o tint) into every car but then using that logic & again given the very low % that didn't come w/a tinted windshield it probably would've made sense to put that in every car a well & just have the side/back glass as the option.

I have a very low option car I'll be embarking on restoring and have always wanted a no radio option GS. On most GS's it would be out of place but if one were to fit the bill, it'd be this one. Obviously would be easy to add the radio back but not if the windshield would need to be changed.

Literally the only non-performance/non-appearance or "luxury" options on the car are AM radio, remote mirror & tinted windshield (only). Appearance options are painted roof, Deluxe steering wheel (350 4-sp car), Deluxe (aka Volcano) Wheelcovers, & whitewalls. Performance options are 4-sp., gauges/tach, Performance axle w/posi, & trailer tow which got a no charge upgrade to SCO 3.64's (you had to order posi - I don't think the performance ratio was actually required but it was such an obscure option they probably didn't realize).

I'll probably delete the remote mirror too. Going to add HD cooling & change the whitewalls to redlines but other than that & maybe adding F-41, I think that's it.

U can buy the windshields with or with out the embedded antenna. To save a $$ or two would mean nor radio, no antenna in windshield.

Thx. I know you can buy them w/ or w/o but wondering how the car would've come originally. Almost seems like it'd have been cheaper for Buick to buy them all w/antennas & only stock 2 different than to stock 4 different windshields for an obscure "non-option" plus would render the dealer installed kits much less useful.

Wow, perfect! Thank you. What is that from (Looks like the "New for '70" brochure)? I have a pretty extensive '70 literature collection and honestly didn't think it'd be spelled out that clearly in any sales literature but makes sense that they put them in all cars did based on the dealer installed radio kits.

what u read in the sales brochures may/may not be what actually makes production.
AS an example - my dad ordered a 1963 Impala sport coupe. In the owners manual, under transmissions, they show an example of a 4 speed with column shift. Never saw nor heard of one.

Very true re: sales lit. Engineering & marketing don't ways speak buy in this case I tend to think it's so b/c of the dealer installed radio kits.

Dan, without the radio, do you plan on singing or humming while your cruising down the road?:)
I've got a couple of the black snap antenna attachments if you go with a radio.

This is the piece of literature with the information about the antenna.

Just listening to the hum of the 350, lol.

I'd rather put one earbud in really if I do listen to anything that use that one crappy speaker:).
