Ok, I've rebuilt the frame, installed the driveline and today I FINALLY got to put the body back on the frame.

I found out that there is not enough clearance for the 700R4 transmission!

Luckily, because I am putting the body on with the driveline in place I was able to heat mold the floor boards so that the transmission fits.

First thing I did was raise the tail shaft on the transmission approx 2 inches higher than normal. i then placed a ratchet strap on each front corner of firewall to the frame and snugged it down. I then marked the inside of the floor pan where there was contact underneath. I then got out the rose bud and heated each spot cherry red and kept tightening down the ratchet straps. I could see the floor holding to the transmission. I kept doing this till I had the front body mounts to the frame without the mount pads in place.
When I put the transmission back down in place and put the front body pads in place I was left with approx 1.5 inches clearance between the floor pan and the transmission.
Luckily all the modifications were inside of the passageway for the heater to blow into the back seat and will not be seen when the tops of the ducts are screwed back on.

probably took and extra hour of labor. I am sure glad I didn't pull the engineered trans before putting the body on!!!

Unless you are doing a body off resto, this would not be a easy swap
