70sgeek drive it like a rental.

So I picked up a really decent 71-2 replacement trunk lid for the ol' rag but the key lock bracket that inserts up into the lid from the underside is gone - I know on my original lid, it's riveted on and there's a gasket mounted between the bracket and lid opening...

are these parts available in repro or am I relegated to the scrounge piles for cast offs?

Same as a Chevelle. They are available repopped. I'm thinking The Parts Place.

You can get them from any Chevelle dealer....runs about $14....contact Bruno here and he should have it for less.

No need to use the gasket or rivet, just use a sheet metal screw.

I don't think it is supposed to be riveted. Your hole for the original screw was probably hogged out by over-tightening and was filled w/a pop rivet. Why not drill the rivets of and reuse the one off of your other lid?
