Thats right a 1971 2 dr. white/black int. from NC. Centurion soon to be a DERBY car a friend bought with a plucked eng./trans. The seller of the car took the eng./trans out before the purchase to put in his 84 Regal. The machine shop freshening up the guys engine runs the head #s and finds out it's a genuine STAGE ONE! Get that! ou: (Oh yeah, Mr. DERBY BOY will be selling non-body parts. You know, ext./int. trim and stuff. Eventually i'll post in parts for sale or request for stuff.) Later...Tim
There was no Stage1 Centurion, but there is an engine option that has Stage1 heads...that is probably what he is talking about. TA coded block with big valve heads and a slightly larger cam from the stock 455.
centurion After reading my post I should've been more specific. Yes, Stage heads on the block. Still a nice find. Resembles your car Adam. Nice!
Would it be possible to get some info on the car being parted? VIN and cowl tag data? Pictures? I'll be logging it on www.buickcenturion.com Thanks!!:beer
that's about as bad as the boattail riv I saw today on "dubbz" that looked like wagon wheels and rubber band tires. It also had rust swells by the fenderwells. It needs a good owner who'll put some decent wheels on it so the car sits lower than a Z71. I;'d be a good owner, money providing. :Brow:
Stage 1 and standard heads carry the same part number on the heads no way of teling by the number if theyre stage 1 only way to tell is look at the valves, id be willing to bet theyre standard valve heads.
Posi!!!! If they bought the top of the line engine they probably ticked the box for a Posi also. If it is a Posi swap axles with him before the derby or see if you can get it after. These axles are bullet proof and it might survive.
There are no "head numbers" that identify Stage 1 heads. Stage 1 and small valve heads of the same year have the same casting number.
