If I had the money and was in the market, Id sure as hell buy this clone instead of the other one (link) listed for $15,000. http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.p...e-1-regestry&p=2011832&highlight=#post2011832
Just talked with the seller. Basically, it sounds like a fun driver car that began life as a Skylark. I think there's good value for the money here, and yes, I'm interested.:Brow:
Well Alan, this isn't the only one I'm eyeballing right now. :Brow::Brow: This particular car could use a little tlc, but it sounds fun for the money. We'll see how things shake out later this week. I just hope I'm not stretching myself too far.........
I agree, even if it's slightly rough thats a fair price- If I'd have put the Corvair on the block early enough this year, I'd roll that cash right into this car - Got lazy, my loss...Good luck and if you get it please post better pictures!
I couldnt help myself... I knew I was in trouble when I called and he still had the car, and lived only a few miles from my buddy...who looked at and drove the car and gave it a clean bill of health...And the owner and I worked out an reasonable price...I am soooo divorced. On the other hand, it's a fairly solid honest car for short money full of rare parts that runs well. It should be a lot of fun, and I'll give you all a full report in a few weeks when it gets to CT from Houston. I havent even gotten my 73 sorted out yet....anybody want to buy a Corvair? http://hartford.craigslist.org/cto/2996333391.html So much for fiscal responsibility, but you can't drive your 401k...
I'll put them up in the add I ran on it here on V-8 Buick under "Cars for Sale"- look for the bump....
Aw dang it. I remembered this one a few days ago while still on the road. The other car I mentioned above did not pan out as advertised. With some other stuff going on, my shopping got put on hold. Now that those other things are being dealt with, I'm back in the hunt.
Take heart in that it's rougher than the pictures showed....my buddy took some detail shots of all the warts. I still bought it though, from a New England perspective it's a gem. Having it shipped for less than the cost of a NOS quarter. Wish I'd have figured that out 20 years ago. ou:
