Can anyone tell me what is a good looking size of radial for a 71 GS Convert. My 70 Stage 1 has 255/60r/15 rear and 225/70r/15 front, they look good, but I would not mind some a little bigger. I don't want to order and have to return because they don't fit. Is there any difference in my two cars as far as how much tire they will fit with the same wheels. Thanks for any ideas! :TU:

A good starting point is 245/60R15 on the front and 275/60R15 on the back. I've had a lot of different sizes on both front and rear. You can go up to a 325/50R15 on the back with 15x10 rims. But the sizes above are about the biggest that fit well and look nice on factory rims.

    I was just wondering....

70 gsconvt, do you have any of those pics of the rear of your car, with the steamroller look?? Id like to see the rear and the side shots if you have em. BTW, Coker Tires is the onlu bunch I found that currently custom make the Buick Rally tires. Icalled them yesterday, but thats another post....

I think wheel vintiques in California can make you anything you want, in fact I "think" that coker buys theirs from wheel vintiques.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH WHEEL VINTIQUES!!!!!!

I waited over 3 months from them and all I ever got was attitude when I called to check on my order. All they ever said was that they didn't have any cores. When I offered to sell them my 14's as cores, they said no way, but if I wanted to give them to them, and I had to ship them also, they would take them. Wow, how generous of them. They're too busy making Chevy and MOPAR stuff for YearOne to be bothered with us lowly Buick guys, IMOO.

I went with Specialty Wheel in Oregon. They were very nice and good to work with. They had the wheels at my door within 10 days and they can also custom make any size you want...except 15x9.

 Could I use a 255/60/15 on all four corners or would that rub or look bad? I cannot get Gooyear white letter in 275/60 or 245/60. Uniroyal tiger paw gts or bfg radial t/a's only. The pictures I looked at for this thread say the tire is a 325/50 not a 275/60 maybe they are very close. The goodyears are $410 and the Uniroyals are $323 mounted, balanced, stems, and tax. So the choice is Uniroyals in 275/60rr and 245/60 fr for $323, or Goodyear Eagle 255/60 all the way around for $410. Any thoughts?

i have found , over the years , that goodyears seem to attract nails !
255r60X15 should fit with no problems and not rub in the front fenders unless your front springs are really dropped .

The 255's will fit up front, but as stated above, your front suspension better be in tip-top shape or you will have a rubbing issue over bumps and such.

the only real problem u would have is , for example , backing or turning into a driveway where there is a 2" or more lip/rise from the roadway to the driveway .

Okay, I think I get it. I am going with the Tiger Paw white letter in 245/60/15 front and 275/60/15 rear. The goodyears look nicer, but the bigger tires are sharp too and $100 less. Now if I could just find a clutch fan for my 455 w/ac!

I have 295/50 /15 BFG Radial T/A's on STOCK 7" rims and they drive great and look awesome. No racing. No swaying or rolling or rubbing, and they don't bow out of the rims very much at all. Some say they shouldn't be on 7 inch rim, but you should see them for yourself.

bfg recommends at least 8" wide rims for 295/50 tires. u may not see it but u are overstressing the sidewalls because u have rolled them in to fit your rim width.
