71 GS Hood

    I had my hood abrasive blasted and there are several sever rust pits in some areas, as well as a few places of rot holes poking through...is it worth fixing? how much is a clean used hood? I'll try to post some pics...not sure if it's worth repairing.

    I got a less than okay GS hood with a whole 3 inch corner missing. Pretty dented up too, and payed $200 without any of the hood grilled or emblems. You're looking at probably $400-600 range for a decent one and more for a NOS/near perfect hood.

    I would say salvage it and do the work right and use a sanding block!! Keep it straight as these hoods aren't very hard to work on.

    Cut the center out and graft it into a skylark hood, been done before. Last hood I seen was $500 and it was damaged.
