Dustin, "A1" code is the sales code for a Stage 1 engine. This type of buildsheet does not use sales codes, but uses UPC and Manifest codes instead. Duane
Talked with the owner (Mark) today, really nice guy, has had the car for about 20 years, matching numbers engine and rear end, tranny has been replaced. Had an interesting story to tell about the car and the last day or two. Seems he hadn't recieved much interest until someone posted the ad on a Buick website, and then he got a whole bunch of calls all at once, with several people lining up to buy it :Comp: :eek2: Sounds like someone is getting a pretty good car to restore! Can't wait to hear about it and see some more pics once you get a chance to see the car in person yourself!
yeah....I helped put a board members' son into a nice 69 Sky not too long ago. I just happened to see it listed and put a post up. Did make me feel good to help someone get a good seat to plant their :moonu: in
I'm a bit confused by some of the posts. Is the car still for sale or did someone here buy it? If so, who's the lucky person? Harvey
It is confusing, isn't it Harvey? Part of that is due to a post or two being deleted. I believe the original board member who posted that he bought it, jumped the gun a bit, and hadn't actually bought it. The owner emailed me yesterday morning saying that his car was sold and he didn't even know it, after someone had informed him that a posting on this board said it had been sold. From talking to the owner last night, he has several parties lined up who want to buy the car, and was waiting to receive confirmation today on payment and shipping arrangements. I will let the "new" owner identify himself rather than blowing his cover. The car sounds pretty original (bittersweet mist too, your favorite Harvey p ), including the carb and distributor IIRC.
Yes, it sold, but not to anybody on here I don't think. A local ended up buying it, and I think they put a quickie paint job on it and re-advertised it at $19k - $23k. There is also a post on it somewhere in the cars for sale section.
Nice car looks like it is either bittersweet or Burnished cinnamon with a brown top the twin to my 71 stage-1 but mine was Flint built. looks like a typical west coast car. Nice rust free car but bleached out interior. This car would be a joy to restore. Just can the crappy steering wheel! What a bargain this car is considering that Hemi Mopars are going for so much. When growing up we considered Mopars rattleboxes and laughed at friends who had them. I can't understand investors as for me Mopars will always be inferior cars. Good luck- restore and destroy Mop-Benz's
So you dig up 16-year-old posts to ask what happened to a car? Man Brian, you don't forget anything do you? You must have a memory like an elephant.
