Can anyone tell me what color was used on the trunk paint of a 71 GS? Thanks!

That would be black with aqua speckles.

All I have been able to find locally here in NC is Plasti Kote which offers a dark green with aqua speckles or black with grey speckles not sure if anyone else makes this trunk paint?

The dark green with Aqua is/was correct. It really looks black unless they changed it. I have used the Plasticoat brand in the past and it said Dark green but looked black. The spray bombs are inferior anyway. The preferred brand of most restorers is Zolatone. I think this may be what Eastwood sells. It comes in pints. All these paints are water based so should be clear coated. I do not think they will ship pints/qts in the winter do to water based so you may be SOL For a while. If you go the spray bomb route I am pretty sure the Eastwood spray bombs are the same as your parts store dark green and Aqua. Buy a test can and check it out. Save yourself shipping.

Go to the Autobody Supply / paint shop. Do a spray out with your Duplicolor spray bomb . Then look at each color closely ( The Droplets) Have your Guy behind the counter get out his Under the hood color paint deck. The paint already has the flat agent in it. The colors are Dark gray Spray this (1) at 45 psi. (2) coat Medium gray on the bluer side. Spray that at 15psi low air pressure. It will come out like splatter. That's what you want. Then(3) coat Should be a teal color Bluish light green . Spray that at 15 Psi . Make a quick staggered pass . That my friend is what you call a work of ART! It's easy to do. And looks Awesome. If you put hardener in the color no need for the clear coat. It its hundred times more Durable than the crap everyone uses! That's the best kept secret in Restoration! And it's rewarding to look at! Make sure you use a 1.8/2.rimer Air Cap

If I recall correctly, a spray bomb doesn't go very far. It took a few cans to do mine. And mine required the clear over top to finish.

There's no Durability in a spray can! Any paint that does not get activated. Is not Durable.
