I have a 71 Q-jet I purchased a few years ago from a board member, I believe I paid $150~ for it. The carb was then sent to John Osborne for a complete rebuild and tune which cost $264, this was in 2005. The QJet was on the last engine with the TA413 cam for what I estimate was about a year & around 1500~ miles until I found out the block had a crack. I now have a Holley on the new engine and I still have my numbers matching 70 QJet, so that's why this is for sale, no need for it. Here's what John did to it and the specs: Rebuild QJet, Install throttle shaft bushings, Carb kit, primary rods, control, vacuum hose, G secondary hanger, filter and plug Carb#: 7041540 MF 0071 Primary jets .077 Primary rods - 48B Secondary rods - AU (.052) The price is $300 including shipping in the 48 states, outside of that you pay for freight. I am located in Northern California, the San Jose Bay Area. Here's a link to pictures http://s657.photobucket.com/albums/uu293/vinmanss/QJet For Sale/ There is one member on this forum who I aswered a question he had in a PM and I said I had this carb for sale, I told him I would post it tonight in the for sale section and he has first dibs, but he needs to respond by the end of the day Monday. It is Donks82. After that it's whomever responds here first. Go ahead and respond if interested, dont wait for Donks82, I just wanted to put this in the add to comply by the rules. Thanks Vinman
With the overwhelming response to this add, more like.... I guess $300 is too high for a 71 Q-Jet modified by Mr Osborne and ready to bolt on......o No: I will re-list this at $250 Thanks
I just reponded to quicksabre on his PM. If that doesnt go through, then you're next in line dennis. Stay tuned....
quicksabre's friend contacted me with commitment to buy at $250, so this is done. If it falls through for any last minute issue, I will re-post. Just wanted to let anyone else interested know. Thanks
