well I fell in love with kens 71 limemist GSX and decided to look for a project that I could clone.

I know what the price would be to clone it and it would be a father\son project, all the work would be done by me and my dad.

car most be mostly complete... i.e. most of the major parts must be there.

    a roller may be considered

my budget isnt really big, it wont be until the end of summer but Im just seeing if anything is available

PS most of you know I am 15 but im not just another tire kicking kid, I have worked hard this past year to get money for a car.

every car I consider goes to my dad.

I will also consider a 70-72 GS but that would be restored to original condition.

    thanks in advance

....personally I would take a good look at the stick car. It will be a better return on the investment, and only $1000 out of your range? You can work and save up or make a deal with the owner and make payments? IMHO, in the long run, so long as it is not a complete basket case, that stick GS car is going to be worth more than either of those others...best of luck !

well chris I called on the second one listed and the guy doesnt know much about the car. I asked for more pictures and the vin number.

there is minor frame damage on it :Dou:

Im going to keep looking at craigslist.

as far as the 70 GS 350 4 speed....the non orig setup is a negative for me.

Im not looking for an investmant right now just a car I can have fun in.

    thanks everyone

Tyler Northcutt Just an old pile of parts

I have a question. If you are looking for a car to have fun in why would you pass on a 4-speed, because it is not the original set up?

    >>As evidence by the front grill, hood emblem, and door panels - that is a 1972 Skylark, not a 1971 as the seller claims.

Too bad you are so far away. There is a 71 Skylark that I was going to buy in Sandpoint Idaho. 350 auto car with buckets, console, air, power windows, power drivers seat, factory 8 track. Interior is awesome. It has a small amount of rust over the back wheels, but not bad. They wanted $4000 for it, but would take $3500. If shipping it wasn't such a big cost it would be a great start for you.

    tyler,

yea a 4 speed would be great but I really cant push the 6000 right now...

1K does not seem like much but i dont want to ask dad for money its more of a pride thing... and the non orig setup would be shot down anyway...

    thanks for the 72 tip.

how much of a project you want?? i have this 71 skylark. it has an NOS 1/4 installed on the pass. side, the driver side 1/4 needs some repair. everything is solid. the interior is complete minus the front seat. door panels are nice. 350-2bbl motor, i havent tried to start it but it turns by hand. all glass is good. only surface rust around front or back windows,no holes. the green paint is the original.

the bad it needs a front clip, driver door and put back together.

pics arent very good cause i have it pushed in the corner of the back garage and its hard to get around it.

    $1500

    Louie! Are you serious!?

Did you read my post in my intro thread? I completely replaced the frame on my skylark in high school, managing a 3.5 gpa, and football practice, and the car is a plain-jane 'lucky to have a 350' skylark! Dude, the manifestation of a dream is only marqued by desire! There are plenty of people on here that can help you that have done it before, myself included. When I get back to Gulfport I am (hopefully before I deploy) ripping my car apart and redoing it. It sounds like an ardouous undertaking, you will be thanking yourself later from the experience you gained tearing that thing apart...
