    Hi

My 71 GS original color is Stratomist blue, what does it look like . anyone have a good photo of a car in the color. I think the color on my car now may be off as there is a small spot under the hood that looks different.thanks

Olds called it Viking blue. Same color. GM generic color name was bright blue. Code #26. Nice color.

    Buickless,

Can you add your first name to your signature line???

Anyways, the car you provided in your first picture has a 70 rear bumper.....didn't know if you realized that item.

Check the "Car For Sale" thread. Member recently posted a very nice original '72. It's a vinyl roof car but the lower body is a stunning blue.

    Name added.

Yes I know about the rear bumper, I had asked around about changing it . the fuel tank is a 70 so I would need a 71 filler neck and have a shop swap it . and then change the bumper .
But for now I will try to get a better 70 rear bumper. I actually like the 70 bumper better , this spring I just want to get it on the road and have fun with it . the summer after I will get into the cosmetic stuff. although there are a few small items I hope to attend to.
    thanks :)

    Steve

thanks I will check that out.

71 gas tanks have a different vent system on them. Would make sense to get whole new gas tank. Just my preference and opinion but these cars deserve the correct bumper and parts for the year it is. 71's could be had with the N25 through the bumper exhaust. Did you consider that? Nothing better.

Yes , there is nothing I would like more than to have the correct bumper and tank for my car but I am on a extremely tight budget so for now that it wll have to do. I found out about the differance in the tanks asking around here and another Buick board.
the information on these boards is fabulous :)

DL. the color you show looks more like the next lighter blue than stratomist. Is it just the light?

I believe so. It's not Gulfstream. Matter a fact I'm thinking it's a photo of Jim's car looking at it.( not my photo) Maybe he can chime in.

DL, looks like 71 Cascade Blue which is code 24. GM called the color Medium blue and Stato was bright blue code 26. i have seen a bunch of Olds 442's with these colors right next to each other and it is amazing the suttle variations. Quite confusing.
