72-76 Cylinder Head Mods?

    Let me ask you a question. Can you afford to do a motor twice, or maybe 3 times. There are something’s that are ill advised for you to do yourself. Cleaning an engine block can be done, but if you don’t do it right, you will ruin the engine when you start it. Cleanliness is absolutely essential and good machining as well. There are a lot of little things that can trip you up when building an engine, and when you make a mistake you’ll be doing the engine again and again. Can you afford that?

    For what it's worth...here is what I paid at my machine shop for my build a couple of years ago:

    They assembled it for $375 as well.

    Where can i find the specs that I can give to the machine shop to either replicate Stage 1 heads for my iron heads or the porting involved with edelbrock aluminum heads ?

    That article makes me want to try to port my own heads as much as I can haha. I'm leaning toward the bare edelbrock heads, but money :(
