1972 Buick Skylark Custom convertible, VIN 4H67J2H136191, 350 V8 with 4-bbl Edelbrock carb, automatic on column, power steering, power brakes, disc front/drum rear, red with white bench seats, white top, 65,500 original miles. This car is located in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, which is one-hour northwest of Milwaukee, or 30 minutes northeast of Madison.

We have owned this vehicle for the past six years, and it has been garaged that entire time. I believe that we are the 3rd owner, and the previous owner told us the mileage was original. I have no way to confirm that, but the pedal wear is not excessive and seems to support it. The paint was originally beige, but one of the previous owners repainted it red. We believe the car has been in Wisconsin it's whole life, and does have underbody rust in the floor-pan areas. In fact, the prior owner replaced the truck pan, but did a poor job so it should be redone correctly. The body paint looks good at 20 feet, but does have some flaws up close. There are some rough paint areas on the front of the hood and in front of the rear tire on the driver's side. The interior is original and needs some attention. The door panels are ratty and the carpeting should be replaced. Also, the convertible top should be replaced due to some tears and aging. We've never driven around except on nice summer days, so the top hasn't been a big concern for us.

Since we purchased the car, I have replaced the original 4-bbl carb with an Edelbrock with electric-choke. We have also put on new tires, all new stainless-steel brake lines, a new radiator and all coolant hoses, a new battery, and a new fuel pump and fuel line from the gas tank. We also installed an AM/FM/cassette radio with speakers in the dash.

The car runs great and has been very reliable. We have driven it all around our area in past summers with no problems. The brake pads and shoes were good last time I checked them, but I noticed some brake pulling when I got it out of storage this spring, so they should be gone over before driving it all summer. Extra parts that go with the car include an extra power top assembly, an extra front and rear bumper. If you don't want these parts, that's fine, but the price is the same either way.

Pictures of the car can be seen at the following web page..

Additional specific pictures can be taken upon request. I've tried to be as brutally honest as possible in describing the condition. This car is far from perfect, but it does have a lot going for it. Basically, if you are looking for an inexpensive, smooth driver to have fun cruising around in while turning some heads, this is your car. If you want something that will win you trophys at the car shows, then this isn't for you. We've had a LOT of fun with this Skylark, but we no longer have the spare time to enjoy it. We just want to recoup the amount of money that we have invested the car, so someone is going to get a great deal at $4,900 cash, and that price is FIRM.

Tim requested some underbody pics. I did the best I could just holding the camera under the car. Hopefully these will be adequate since I don't have access to a hoist.

When I bought the car 6 years ago I pulled the rear seat and there were a few small holes (1/4" diameter) in the floorpan under there. Since the car hasn't seen snow, salt or rain since then I'm hoping they aren't much worse. The frame was solid when I installed the stainless steel brake lines four years ago, as I had the entire car up on jackstands under the frame. But as you can see by the attemped repairs done by the previous owner, the trunk area definitely needs some attention

A sale to Tim is pending, so the Skylark is off the market. I do have Steve (gstoy1) noted as the runner-up buyer in case something were to fall through.

Thanks to Tim! I'm looking forward to meeting you upon delivery.
