Hey guys, well, im gonna need a front core support for the 72' as it is slightly bent in, and my lower radiator support is bent in as well, so my question would be, am i only limited to a 72' lark for parts, or can i look for other years....and better yet, are chevelle parts interchangable, or are they different, i would prefer to keep my buick all buick, but im also a poor college kid, just looking for a way to fix his baby. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks guys.

I have a couple supports that need a repair kit installed I would sell them with the kit for $175 plus the shipping. I know they will go UPS Ive done it before

Chevelle external body parts won't work. Some chassis parts and some body parts will work but not the core support won't.

If you go to http://mrbuick.com/core.htm you can see the repair kits and one being installed. The support I have will need to have one installed and be sand blasted and painted. then its ready to install.

ok, once again, im a little new to this, so forgive my ignorance. I was figuring the core support was the whole part which was parralel with the radiator, and has both headlight buckets, that is the part that is bent, and right behind the right headlight is where you can see the bend in it. Also, my battery is being held up by wood planks (previous owner) so would this remedy that? Sorry for all the questions, i just need a picture of the actual core support, or if you can find a picture and photoshop it to show me what i would be getting, and again, is it possible that you have the lower radiator support as well?

I would send a complete core support to you with the repair kit that would need welded in. Then you would want to blast it and paint it complete before installing into the car.

I will get it dug out of the stack (I have about 15 to choose from) and get it weighed

sounds good, i just wish i could get a picture of that, i have this anal tendancy to need to see something that im buying over the internet...not that i dont trust you, im just punching myself in the stomach over for some reason.
Is there a difference in the years, between a 70' and a 72, at all?

There are a few VERY small differences but unless you are into the concourse retoration stuff it wont matter. I can get a picture and post it no sweat.

awesome. And no, im not doing a concourse, i'd just prefer a 72 if it was at all possible, if its not, or if its a problem you dont have to worry about it at all. Thanks again.

71-2 use the same core support. 70 is slightly different in detail, but will interchange. The core support is what you describe. Goes from one side of the car to the other, includes the part where the headlights mount, and a square hole in the middle where the radiator goes. The repair kit may solve your battery location problem. The battery sits on a tray which sits half on the core support and half on the front edge of the inner fenderwell.
    Hope this helps.

got another question guys. Will the repair kit from a 71' pontiac work for the front core support im gonna get? Just the repair kit, not the core support itself. Thanks in advance.

All the supports I have need more work than I remember. I am not sure but someone who has one of these supports that live near you may be able to help. I wish i had something better but I dont want to ship one to you and you not beable to use it. Sorry about that. I do have 3 more cars to get them from but they are no where near ready to take apart.

I will probably start in about 30-45 days at the soonest. They are safe in my indoor storage and I am working on the yard cars right now.
