The amount of money I have in the car will out weigh what I can get for it but I need to sell the car at this time. The GS may be at the Nats this week if people want to view it. I wanted to get the Concours Gold judging and then bring it home...but my situation has changed. I purchased this GS in Aug. of 2005 and took it to Then and Now the following spring for restoration. The restoration is just now being completed. The pics of restoration and all the receipts will verify this was a complete and thorough first class resto. The VIN is very low, #00135. It was originally ordered by the Zone Office with these options, Flame orange with white top white interior Stage 1, TH400, power disc brakes, power steering-fast variable ratio, sonomatic radio, rear seat speaker, stereo tape player through bumper exhaust A/C custom front and rear seat belts front and rear bumper guards front and rear strips sport mirrors tilt wheel rallye steering wheel convenience group inst. guages and rallye clock I was offered a certain amount but am hoping to get a little closer to what I have spent. As I stated, I know I can't get back what I spent but what would be an amount I could get for a quick sale. I should have more pics coming tomorrow. Per the board rules I am adding a price, but it is only to satisfy the rules. It is not anything in concrete. $99,900.
The moderators will soon be asking for a price per the board rules. I did not see one in your ad. Picture link does not work.
i dont see any attatchments either??? have you tried one of your posted links,or are you signed into your account:laugh:
Hello oldtimebaseball The comcast links require your account information, and are stored in your personal 'file locker'. Put the pictures on your comcast webspace and then put the links here. If you are having problems, please email me the pictures - marco@stage1registry.com and I'll post them here. Also, please consider registering your rare car. Thanks!
Final pictures should be done later today. Is this a $99,000. or a $75,000. car? I have way more than that in it but I need to be realistic about a price that will sell now.
Very nice. Actual value will depend on many factors. Is the body original or is it a re-body? I see a non-air firewall.
Not a rebody, had to section in rusted parts of cowl. Get structural integrity back, then resection firewall. Approx. 40 % of cowl sheet metal has been sectioned in.
I recall the last 1972 GS Stage 1 convert sold for less than 90K complete. It was Blue with a white Top. Does anyone have the old ebay listings for that one? It was probably 6 months ago? But it was complete and had been a full restore that looked to be a few years old.
A 72 Flame Orange conv with white brought 75k and was no saled at Mecum in Kissimee in Jan. Auto car with paperwork. A real nice car . It was critiqued on the board sometime ago. Johnh
You guys need to look harder . At January Russo Steel sale there was orange/white for 56K .1 month ago in FL a Bitter sweet /white $44k That Blue/white 4 speed tag job keeps on resurfacing in mid 55k area theres even one right here in cars forsale for 46k.I think anything in the 75K range is going to be a tough sale. And get rid of the resto photos todays buyers want no rust AZ cars they dont want to know about patched up rust jobs.
Beautiful car, and beautiful work! I like the resto photos, as a testament that nothing is being hidden, and that original sheetmetal was saved wherever possible. No one expects all of these to have survived without some rust and dings. Its rarity alone makes such questions moot. Numbers seem to be the big issue, anymore. No one can argue Marks quality, especially with so many of us singing the blues over lousy, slow, second rate bodywork on cars we took to other people. I wonder if rising gas prices will affect collectible car prices, before long. Dan
Here are the pics of the finished product by Mark Meekins at Then and Now. Trying to get a range on the value. Any estimates are welcome. http://webmail.aol.com/37668/aol/en....aspx?uid=1.22565934&folder=NewMail&partId=10
