Seemingly he'd have been way better off flipping the GS "as-is" and buying a nice Skylark.

The black bumpers just don't work,...body color bumpers and headlight bezels with black around the lights would be MUCH BETTER,...They got some high aspirations thats for sure

Clearly, an epic bad decision to mess up this very rare car.

Someone should call him, talk about original colors and options and how cool it would be restored, then start subtracting the cost to make it right from his asking price. See if he’d take six or eight grand with original parts and let him keep all the non original stuff.

those Foose wheels are just gross,..all of them almost as bad as those cast machined and black American racing wheels from the 90s,..that were on all the conversion vans,..Harley Trikes,. And the display wall at Sears

Shi* Give me 85k and a beater Skylark. I will have 20k maybe even 40k left and have the most comfortable fast as Nellie car and a killer ride. And it won't be a GSX cough cough clone. 85k...

As written earlier, the more you take a car away from how it was originally built the less the history of the car is worth. There are a ton of guys out there that installed rear spoilers & hood tachs on cars that never had them.

Then when they want to sell the cars as "historical" pieces, the new owners are faced with the task of either accepting the cars as they are currently, or looking for new hoods and trunk lids plus dealing with paint work. This has often led to the point where either the price of the car was lowered, or a no sale.

Trust me, I think guys can do what they want with their cars, and believe there is room for everything in our hobby, however if you start really altering a vehicle you have to accept the consequences of your actions. Future buyers may not like your "vision" of the car.

    436'd Skylark Sweet Fancy Moses!!!!!

This is true with most everything of significant value. Your house, car, bike etc. The more you customize it the narrower your market.
