I've got a 1972 GS 455 that has interior door trim panels that I haven't seen on any of the other 70 to 72 GS's that I've looked at. Most if not all 70 to 72 interior door trim panels that I've seen have a GS emblem of some sort and they don't have a wood grain section like mine does. Does my car have some sort of deluxe interior trim option? Thanks for any help and insight.
Hi Rick, I'm not sure if the GS emblem would still go on but in 1972 the deluxe woodgrain door panels was an option on hardtops, but not convertibles.
hello rick do you have any more pic of ou car? i am building a 1972 gs stage 1 car and i think your car is the same green paint.my car has a paint code 48(hunter green) and top is G,and i have the same panels..would like to see more pic the help with my build... thanks ray
Same paint code as mine 48 Hunter Green Here are some that I have. I can take pictures of other areas if you need them. Let me know.
hi rick, thanks for the pic. who restored your car? was the top black from GM? mine is med green but i`m thinking going with black, looks good with the hunter. :beer
I restored it with the help of a few good coworker friends at the Buick dealership where I worked about 25 years ago. The vinyl top is the original top from '72. I agree that the black vinyl top looks good with Hunter green paint.
Wow, I am sure happy you posted some pictures. My 72 Stage 1 is Hunter Green but has the green vinyl top. My paint and vinyl are so bad, I couldn't really image how it was going to look. Thanks again
The black top looks good with the black interior. The only problem is that it's hot as hell in the summer sun!
