I would not assume it's sold. The people handling the estate sale have a very confusing website, so it's not clear if there was to be an auction, but it was never detailed if so. I think you can still make an offer.
I checked their “completed auctions” and it was nowhere to be found. Probably quietly continuing to rust away somewhere while the seller reassess his tactics. I love 72’s too BTW (my very first GS at 15 years old was one with a 70 drivetrain, best of both worlds!).
Anyone ever get the story on what happened to the orig. hood? I'm assuming the one on it currently isn't.
Based on the amount of rust in the rest of the car, I’m guessing that the front of it rusted out and had to be replaced.
Is there a place where there are more than 4 pics of this red car? The rust showing in those photos doesn’t seem terminal.
I did not take a lot of pictures. Only of the matching numbers on the engine block and the distributor. The rust is not terminal. But the fenders and quarters for sure will have to be replaced
Thanks for the update since it puts an ending on this thread. I hope we see the car surface again after receiving some attention.
Well at least that will show more of the hidden rust. Despite the naysayers, this car can be restored and probably will be.
As you've seen 1st hand, anything can be restored and oftentimes the worse they are to start the nicer the end result. Nobody in their right mind would take on my '71 GS convertible.
Well truth be told, no one in their right mind would be fooling with any old Buick but here we all are, doing it anyway and enjoying it (most of the time).
