Anyone here have access to parts, especially sheetmetal. Friend just bought one to restore & is havng difficulty with parts. I just said " Welcome to the club, you should have bought a Buick.". :Brow: Tailgate for sure & lower quarters I know he needs.
Anyone know what the engine might be?
It's a 304, Joe & I are both thinking AMC made their own engines at the time.

    Cheers,

    Steve,
Funny you brought that up about the commando, a friend of mine just found one in a "barn" type deal and purchased it (He got a good deal too) from the pictures it sure looks nice! Sorry I cannot help you with parts but I thought it was quite the coincidense you brought that one up when my friend had just aquired one as well. Been a long time since I had even seen one!

    Hi Tom,
Didn't know what they looked like until I tried searching the net for a pic. Gotta be honest, they don't have very nice lines at all! I know it's a Ute but some un-attractive to me. I was thinking it was the larger style, maybe one generation before the big Cherokee. They made a pick-up & a twin suburban style. That's what I thought Joe had bought.

I asked him the same thing and he told me he didn't know yet, he is a big evilbay type guy so if it was to be listed I would assume it would be there. I will let you know if he does.

P.S. Looking at the photo's made me go look in my old box of tonkas and I actually have an old tonka like this as well.

Thanks for checking George. I had him all excited this AM at Tim Horton's. I'll break it to him gently in the morning.

    Thanks again George,
I'll print & get it to Joe. He was actually talking about a family vacation/road-trip to get the one you saw in the yard.
